Impregnated Bit
Tools whose cutting action occurs by abrasion. The cutting element is made of synthetic diamond powder contained in the cutting part of the tool.
Surface Set Bit
Tools whose cutting action occurs by cleavage. The cutting element consists of natural or synthetic diamonds positioned on the cutting profile of the tool and mechanically retained by the concretion.
